A deck build starts with footings and works up. The work underground determines whether the deck is still level ten years from now. We evaluate every site before we set a single post.
Footings, Framing, and the Full Build Sequence
We excavate to four feet for frost depth on every footing, pour piers, set posts, install the ledger board with proper flashing, frame joists, lay decking, build stairs, and install code-compliant railings. Around Sidney and Vassalboro, soil composition changes across the footprint frequently.

Most contractors price the decking and skip the footing depth, the ledger flashing, and the code-compliant railing details that actually make the structure safe. What we usually find once we start setting posts is that the ground is not as uniform as it looked from the surface. We price every component.
